Happily Ever After!

After two in a half years of dating, months of planning, and lots of hard work from family and friends Sean and I are married!!

Sean and I were married on May 20th, 2011!

It's been about two in a half months since we have been married. Married life is amazing! It's definitely something to get used to but absolutely amazing waking up to the love of my life.

In the spirit of love here's the whole story of the meeting of Sean and Sarah!

At the end of August 2008 I received an e-mail from the UVU service committee about an over-night retreat coming up that next week. A couple of days prior to the e-mail I went to orientation with my family at my new university and felt compelled to get involved. :) I signed up for the service committee as well as MAWL, which is the spirit committee at the university. When I received the e-mail I thought this would be a great time to get to know people.

Now for those that know me are thinking "What?? Sarah going out of her way to get to know people?? That's very unusual". See I'm a VERY shy person and even though I love getting to know people I definitely don't take the initiative. Despite that I e-mailed that individual back and ask where and when this over-night retreat was happening. At that time I was determined to go.

So, the time finally came for the over-night retreat. This was a Friday and everyone going to the retreat was to meet at the school. Now at this time I didn't have my wonderful car or a boyfriend to drive my around..lol but I did have a bus pass so that's what I would have to take to go to the school. As I was packing I got really scared and nervous so I tried to get out of going to the retreat as much as possible. I thought " You know what, I have to lug all of my stuff and my sleeping bag around on the bus to get the school and it's not worth it. I mean what I'm I doing anyways. I won't know anyone there". At the same time as these thoughts where going through my mind my best friend in the whole world, who was also my roommate at the time, came into our room and said
"Guess what.....my parents let me borrow their van"

Oh crap!! My whole plan to get out of going to the retreat was ruined, now I have a ride to the school and I don't have to lug my stuff around the bus.

During the time I was trying to get out of going what I didn't know was that Sean was planning on going to the over-night retreat but was trying to get out of it as well because he also didn't know anyone there. :) However, his roommate told Sean that he could take him so Sean decided to have fun and go to the retreat! Super glad he did!

When Missy and I got to the school and were saying our good-byes I got the worst feeling in the world. Missy and I haven't seen each other in a while and now I'm leaving her to go on a retreat where I don't know anyone. I really didn't want to leave her and she didn't want me to go either but being the best friend as she is she pushed me to go, literally!

When I got on the bus Sean and my good friend now, Nick, sat in the seat right next to me. Next to him was the isle, then another kid, and finally next to that kid was Sean! My future husband was sitting so close to me and I didn't even know it. Funny how things work! After a little while of Nick and I talking and getting to know each other he introduced me to some people he just met, Sean being one of them. During the whole retreat Sean and I spent the majority of our time together. I remember thinking man he is so hot and funny! It's never changed...he is still so hot and funny :)

Throughout the entire retreat I was waiting for Sean to ask me for my number but he didn't. So I told myself if he doesn't get my number by the time we get back to the school and off the bus then I will ask him. Well we arrived at the school and he still hadn't ask me for my number so I rushed off the bus to caught him before he left and ask him "Can I have your number?" I was so happy with myself that I got enough courage to ask him! He gave my his number and gave him mine, the rest is history!
